Chou serves as the weekend morning and evening anchor at WRAL-TV. On joining the station, she started off by serving as the 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. anchor prior to serving as the weekend morning and evening anchor. Prior to joining WRAL-News, she worked at KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she served as an anchor and reporter. She also spent some time working at KOMU-TV based in Columbia, Missouri where she also served as an anchor and reporter.
Chou has also won several awards and honors including three Regional Emmys one of them being for General Assignment in 2015. Her coverage of Hurricane Sandy earned her a Regional Emmy for “Best Weather Reporting” and Weekend Newscast from the NC Associated Press Broadcast Awards. In 2013, she received a Regional Emmy for News Special after enclosing the Kathy Taft murder trial. In 2020, she earned a nomination for a Regional Emmy for Best Morning Newscast. Chou also won a ton of other Radio and TV awards from the Iowa Associated Press Broadcasters Association, the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas, and the Missouri Broadcasters Association.
Chou went to the University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo where she attained her Bachelor of Journalism. Some of her all-time favorite coverages include The 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, reporting on Election Day in 2008 covering presidential candidate John McCain in Phoenix. Additionally, covering hurricanes Irene, Earl, and Sandy are also her favorite Hurricanes.
Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends. She also enjoys hiking, playing tennis, reading books, and going to the beach. Additionally, she is also an avid runner and also enjoys kickboxing, barre, and cardio. Chou also loves playing music and performing traditional Chinese dances and piano.
