Knott is a proud alumnus of Southern Oregon State College, where he earned a degree. During his stint at the university, he played football. After graduating from college, he was employed at an ABC-affiliated TV station in Medford, Oregon, KDRV-TV. He then went to work for stations in Washington, D.C., and Mobile, Alabama. After that, he now joined 5 On Your Side.
