Rachel Anne Maddow is an American award-winning television news program host and liberal political commentator. She is working for MSNBC serving as a host.
Rachel Maddow Education
Maddow attended Castro Valley High School and later on went to Stanford University. She received a degree in public policy at Stanford in 1994. Madow was also awarded the John Gardner Fellowship during her graduation. She also managed to win a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. In 2001, she received a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in politics at the University of Oxford.

Maddow is a host and liberal political commentator as well as a regular panelist on the MSNBC show Tucker which is hosted by Tucker Carlson. She began this role in June 2005 and was also a guest on CNN’s Paula Zahn Now during and after the 2006 election. Additionally, she also served as a correspondent for The Advocate Newsmagazine which is an LGBT-oriented short-form newsmagazine for Logo deriving from news items published by The Advocate. Maddow started serving as an MSNBC political analyst in January 2008. She would also often serve as a panelist on the station’s Race for the White House with David Gregory and MSNBC’s election coverage and often served as a contributor on Countdown with Keith Olbermann.
Maddow was also the substitute host for Countdown with Keith Olbermann in 2008, her first time hosting a program on MSNBC. Furthermore, she also hosted a show which was one of the highest-rated among people who were aged 25 years old to 54 years old. Maddow was also graded third in Olbermann’s show segment “World’s Best Persons”. She was also able to fill in for some other stations in 2008 including David Gregory as the host of Race for the White House.
Rachel Maddow Radio
Maddow landed her first job in radio at WRNX (100.9 FM) in Holyoke, Massachusetts, in 1999, where she served as a radio host. She left the show and started hosting The Dave in the Morning Show. The radio had a contest that was held so as to find the new second lead for the show’s principal host, Dave Brinnel. Maddow entered the contest and without a doubt won the contest and was now the second lead for the show.
Later on, she left WRNX and moved to Northampton, Massachusetts. While in Northampton, Massachusetts, she started working for WRSI where she served as the host of Big Breakfast for two years. In 2004, she left WRSI and joined forces with the new Air America where she served as the host of Unfiltered along with-creator of The Daily Show, Lizz Winstead, and Chuck D of the hip hop group Public Enemy. In March 2005, the show was canceled and marked the end of the show.

Maddow started her weekday two-hour radio program, The Rachel Maddow Show in March 2008 two weeks after Unfiltered was canceled. Soon after, The Rachel Maddow Show attained the third hour, broadcasting from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. EST, and whenever Maddow was on a TV assignment, David Bender would be filling in for her. Rachel Maddow Skin Cancer
Maddow was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2021 and had to undergo surgery. She shared the news during an episode of The Rachel Maddow Show. She also said that she is in good health because the surgery was a success and that the cancerous mole was already removed. Maddow has had the mole all her life but it started changing in appearance and her partner Susan noticed the change.
At first, she thought it was a mosquito bite or sunburn but her partner Susan pushed her to go in for a check-up. Maddow went to see a dermatologist and it was confirmed that her mole on the neck was cancerous after she did a biopsy. She stated that it was not an easy moment for her but she was positive about the whole procedure.
