Rachel Brown Career
Brown serves at KABC – ABC7 as a weekend morning co-anchor and a general assignment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News since she previously worked at WCNC-TV as Weekday Evening Anchor and reports. Rachel is a native of Chicago’s South Side. Brown received a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois. She then went on to pursue a master’s degree in communication management and graduated from Northwestern University one year later.
Brown got her first reporting job not far from home in South Bend, Indiana. There, Brown received her first Emmy nomination for her reporting during a winter storm.
On the search for warmer weather, her next job took her south to Charlotte, North Carolina. Brown joined NBC Charlotte and served as a weekday evening anchor and nightside reporter for three years.
During her time in Charlotte Brown volunteered weekly at Levine Children’s Hospital. Working as a Child Life Specialist, her goal was to make children feel as happy and as comfortable as possible during their stay.
She is so excited to serve Southern California and looks forward to more volunteering opportunities, trying new restaurants, and exploring all Los Angeles has to offer.
