Since February 2017 he has worked At Hamilton County as an On-Camera host. He has also served for Visit My Smokies Dot Com as an On-Camera Host for 10 years in the Smoky Mountains.
Additionally, he worked at Anderson/Madison County Visitor & Convention Bureau as an On-Camera Host for 5 years (Between February 2015 to March 2020). Poteet worked for WISH-TV serving as Weather & Traffic Anchor for 10 months. Previously he worked as a Morning Show Cast Member and meteorologist at WZPL 99.5 in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States for 17 years(August 1997 to March 2015). He worked for WLFI as a Weekend Weatherman for three years.
He was passionate about the weather while he was young. Poteet used to do television weather in his boyhood home’s basement. paul was watching carefully the weather forecasts on TV and also recorded maps which would seem prehistoric in the high-definition storm tracking days. The weather event he remembers is the “Super Outbreak” of tornadoes on April 3, 1974, which was done in his region on the same day they devastated Xenia, Ohio.
