He was the organizer of a renovating project entitled “Loft Living” which they work to renovate lofts and brownstones in and around New York City. Later, he moved to Los Angeles, California where he continued the “Loft Living” project.

DiMeo worked on the restoration of the Landmark Brownstone of Aaron Burr together with master carpenter Rob Hickman. DiMeo is sometimes spoofed on Saturday Night Live due to his tendency to cry frequently and repeatedly during each episode of Extreme Makeover.
In 2011, he was asked by Major League Baseball to design the MLB Fan Cave, where Mike O’Hara and Ryan Wagner watched every baseball game of the 2011 season. He hosts an infomercial for the WORX Trivac.
He is an actor and producer, known for Building Wild (2014), Jack & Jill (1999), and 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996). Currently, DiMeo stars in the reality show Building Wild on the National Geographic Channel.

Building Wild is a reality construction series that premiered on National Geographic Channel on January 14, 2014. The series featured Paul DiMeo and Pat “Tuffy” Bakatis who were known as The Cabin Kings. Each of them met a new client who dreams of a backwoods getaway. Within a period of seven days, they were expected to build their clients a custom cabin with the provision of materials and manpower by the landowners. However, the show was canceled by the National Geographic Channel after its second season ended on April 21, 2015.
