In the year 2013, Oppmann tracked the movements of a fugitive couple that kidnapped their kids in the state of Florida. While tracking, he found the Hakken family in Cuba after having cruised to Havana during a custody dispute. The couple was subsequently returned to the United States by the officials of Cuba.
