Her journalism career first paid off after joining WVEC where she worked as a production assistant. Before working for the Voice of America, she worked at WVBT-TV and WAVY-TV in Norfolk as an evening anchor for several years. In addition, she worked also in Rhode Island and Ohio.
Livas, a multimedia journalist, has been nominated for an Emmy. After the JFK, Jr. plane crash off Martha’s Vineyard, Livas was one of the first reporters on the scene. She also covered the September 11th terror attacks and the Virginia Tech shootings and reported feature stories involving lifestyle news, entertainment, NCAA basketball, as well as high school football.
