Livas is a reporter and anchor working for 13News Now. She joined the 13News Now news team in April 2019 Prior to joining the 13News Now News team, she worked for Voice of America in Washington, DC as an anchor, producer, and editor.

Her journalism career first paid off after joining WVEC where she worked as a production assistant. Before working for the Voice of America, she worked at WVBT-TV and WAVY-TV in Norfolk as an evening anchor for several years. In addition, she worked also in Rhode Island and Ohio.

Livas, a multimedia journalist, has been nominated for an Emmy. After the JFK, Jr. plane crash off Martha’s Vineyard, Livas was one of the first reporters on the scene. She also covered the September 11th terror attacks and the Virginia Tech shootings and reported feature stories involving lifestyle news, entertainment, NCAA basketball, as well as high school football.

Livas’s work has been great and has been recognized by The Hampton Roads Black Media Professionals and the Virginia Association of Broadcasters. The Coastal Virginia Magazine’s readers voted her as the best female newscaster several times.
