Nicole Buchmann is an American News Anchor/Multimedia Journalist currently working for WILX-TV. She serves as the weekend anchor on WILX News 10. Also, she works as the dayside reporter at the station. After 2 years of anchoring and reporting in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Buchmann is thrilled to be back in the Lower Peninsula.
Buchmann has always loved to tell stories. She began telling stories through theater at a young age until she made her television debut. She is a proud alumnus of Grand Valley State University. There she was a full-time student, interning at Kalamazoo’s 103.3 WKFR, WGVU, and Grand Rapids’ WOOD TV8. She graduated from the university with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, as well as a minor in theatre.
In April 2017, Buchmann started working for WLUC TV6 in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, holding the position of a news reporter. She has covered events all throughout Michigan since then and accompanied 79 veterans on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
The Michigan Association of Broadcasters honored Buchmann with the News Reporter Merit Award in 2017 for her work at TV6. Also, she was promoted to fill in for the weekend anchor/producer and the morning live shot reporter during her stint at TV6.
Buchmann is an affiliate of the 2017 Michigan’s Association of Broadcasters News Reporter Merit Award. During her leisure, you can find her rooting for the Detroit Lions, Tigers, and Michigan Wolverines. Also, you can find her going on camps and hikes, as well as reading her favorite book during her free time.
