Miller is a proud alumnus of Vianney High School, where he ran track and cross-country. He then joined the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Media Studies, & Communication, as well as a B.S. in Meteorology & Atmospheric Sciences. While at the university, he participated on the University’s field team and track, and finally, he qualified for the 2008 Olympic Trials.
His interest in weather began at a young age. He had a passion for understanding how the weather works and sharing that information with others. He knows how vital it is to be knowledgeable about the weather, especially dangerous and harsh weather, having grown up in the Midwest. Miller’s career has carried him all across the country, from the Midwest to the seaside, and back again. He’s spent time in Missouri, Columbia, and Charleston, South Carolina.
