Romero has traveled to every vice-presidential and presidential debate and has provided live coverage of Election Day from Washington DC, where he reported on Donald Trump’s campaign.
While joining CNN, Romero was so familiar with significant storms. She brought exclusive content to the affiliates of CNN from the storm-ravaged Bahamas after the fifth category Hurricane Dorian devastated the country. Romero was the 1st Newsource Correspondent to cover live-on-scene George Floyd’s murder in Minneapolis. She has devoted much of her reporting on issues that have brought impact to the Latino and Black communities while working to give a voice to sex abuse survivors.
Before Romero joined CNN, she worked at KCPQ-TV Q13 News in Seattle, Washington DC as a News Anchor and Reporter. There she reported and led enterprise stories. She has worked as a news anchor and reporter for KCRG TV9 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; KTVX ABC 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah; WSYR News Channel 9 in Syracuse, New York; and WSJV FOX 28 in Elkhart, Indiana.
She was the 1st to hit the campaign trail after covering the Republican Primary in Iowa in the year 2012. Also, she was the 1st black primary anchor in Utah to be featured on the Meredith Vieira Show, as well as in ESSENCE magazine. Romero is a strong volunteer in the community. She served as an English Language Teacher at Catholic Community Charities for nearly one and a half years (February 2012 – June 2013). There he was teaching English to immigrants.
