Romero serves at KTVB News as a co-anchor of the top-rated 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts and is an investigative reporter. She is well-known for having worked for KGW in Portland, Oregon. Before joining KTVB, she served at KGW as an investigative and general assignment reporter, specializing in general assignment reporting. Romero joined the KGW team in February 2019 and resigned in October 2021.
She has received several awards, including first and second place from the Idaho Press Club, Reporter of the Year from the Idaho Commission on Hispanic Affairs, and an award from the Idaho Council on Intellectual Disabilities for respectful and exemplary reporting. Morgan was nominated for a 2017 NATAS Emmy Spot News award for her reporting on an elderly man who was rescued from his home in rural Weiser, Idaho, which was surrounded by rising floodwaters during a catastrophic flood year. The story was also the lead in an Emmy-winning evening newscast. Morgan’s work has led to KTVB News at Ten receiving two regional Edward R. Murrow awards.
Morgan was working for KTVB News before going to KGW as the lead reporter at Ten, Idaho’s highest-rated newscast, where she covered everything from politics to human interest stories and watchdog investigations. She was a member of the debate panel for the 2018 Idaho Gubernatorial Primary and General Election Debates. Over the last two years, she has been a central part of KTVB’s presidential, statewide, and local election coverage. Morgan traveled all over Idaho and the surrounding states to cover stories that have a lasting effect on viewers across all platforms. Morgan was born and raised in sunny San Diego before, like many Californians, moving to the Boise, Idaho area in eighth grade.
Romero graduated from Eagle High School and went on to the University of Colorado, Boulder (Sko Buffs! ), where she was a member of the Chi Omega fraternity. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Sociology in 2015. She felt compelled to return to Boise after a short stay in Tyler, Texas, to work for the heritage station she grew up watching! Romero worked as an investigative and general assignment reporter and anchor at KTVB for three and a half years.
Morgan is a huge supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and has worked as a Wish Granter in Boise for the past few years. When not working, Morgan enjoys spending time in the outdoors when she isn’t chasing interesting stories; thankfully, there are plenty of opportunities to do so.
