He has teamed up with Congressman John Mica, Representative Randy Johnson, the former Congressman Ric Keller, and former State, Orange County Commissioner Linda Stewart, and State Representative Sandy Adams. His investigations have led to new proposals in the auto insurance industry and video retail sales industry as well. In the economic downturn post 9-11, his stories convinced then-Governor Jeb Bush to allow tax extensions for hotel-motel owners.
Holfeld’s reports on parents losing a pregnancy to miscarriage led to the passage of the Grieving Parents Law. At the moment, Florida parents have the right to hold a memorial service no matter when the miscarriage occurs. Through his work, he has earned a long list of honors.
In the course of his career, he has been privileged to receive Eight Emmy Nominations, winning two. This is in addition to receiving the 2008 Murrow Award.
