Mike Haddad Career
Haddad serves at WMUR News 9 as a meteorologist, where his forecasts appear at 5 p.m. and 6 pm. Also, at WMUR News 9 Tonight at 11 pm. He started working as a weekend weather anchor for WMUR-TV ABC9 news. Haddad then made a quick transition to anchoring weather on News 9 at Noon and News 9 at Daybreak. He eventually got a promotion to the Chief Meteorologist at the station in July of 1998.
He represents WMUR in visits to New Hampshire schools and other organizations for weather presentations, in addition to television. Also, he is a weathercaster for a 96.5 FM radio station, The Mill. In addition, he participates in the annual Penguin Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics New Hampshire. During the “Great Blizzard of 1978,” he missed 1 week of school, just to witness the storm. That is the time he developed a strong interest in weather.
Haddad is an alumnus of the University of Massachusetts, in Lowell. While studying at the university, he was interning at an independent television station in Boston, WHDH. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the university and attended Penn State University to acquire his master’s in Meteorology. During his time at Penn State, he spent 2 years as a teaching assistant. During his leisure, he likes going on a hike, skiing, or even sailing. Haddad is a basketball geek, therefore you can find him watching “Celtics” during winter.
