Gargiulo serves at NBC 4 New York as a co-anchor for the program, “Today in New York.” The show airs from Monday to Friday from 4 to 7 AM. Before joining NBC 4, he served at WTTG in Washington as an anchor of a 2-hour morning program. Before that, he served as a Washington correspondent at Hearst Argyle Washington Bureau.

He started his journalism career at WSAZ-TV in Huntington, West Virginia where he worked as a host of a locally produced nationally syndicated magazine show. From there, he went to work for WYOU in Scranton, Pennsylvania as a news anchor/reporter. After that, he moved to WLKY in Louisville, Kentucky, then to KSTP-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Gargiulo reported on multiple most unforgettable stories in the Tri-State including Queens after Superstorm Sandy in the year 2012, Breezy Point, and President Biden’s Inauguration from Washington DC in the year 2021. Also, he covered the explosion of a steam pipe in the Flatiron District, Manhattan in the year 2018. Gargiulo has a special interest in military matters – flew with the National Guard of New York to Puerto Rico on a special relief mission in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Gargiulo holds an Emmy® Award for his live coverage from Kuwait and Iraq. He was among the last journalists to be embedded with a United States military unit in Afghanistan before the end of combat operations. Gargiulo was instrumental in the coverage of COVID-19, which won the prestigious Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award in January 2021.
