She discovered her passion for journalism and science in college. In 2018, she graduated with her degree in Geography and Communications and decided to continue her educational career. Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi accepted her in the Summer of 2018. She was given an opportunity to pursue her career, in meteorology.
A few months later, she interned at KRIS 6 News as a weather intern. While there, she was in a position to put her theory on practical, into the real world. After graduating from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, she started her career at KAMR Local 4 News in Amarillo, Texas as an on-air meteorologist and reporter.
Terrazas says that forecasting in the Texas Panhandle has kept her on her toes. Among the stories she covered, there is one she enjoyed the most; the storm-chasing event in March 2021, she was within 150 yards of an EF-2 tornado in Happy, Texas. She has experienced tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and wintry weather.
