Meza serves as a San Joaquin County Bureau Chief and reporter who has been working as a journalist for about 15 years now. She had also worked for other stations prior to joining KCRA3 For instance, she previously worked for MKM Productions where she served as the executive producer and founded a company that creates videos for small businesses and doctors. Prior to that, she previously worked for KXTV, Sacramento, California Area where she served as a multi-media reporter from June 2011 to January 2012. While at KXTV, she wrote, reported, edited, and shot live during 5 and 6 pm newscasts Monday through Friday.
Before she joined KXTV, she previously spent about 1 year and 11 months working at The Brentwood Press where she served as a multi-media reporter. During her tenure at The Brentwood Press, she was also the online reporter and came up with story ideas affecting the community and shoot, write, edit and upload to the net. Prior to that, she had previously worked for KGO ABC7 News from October 2010to May 2011 where she served as a writer as well as a producer. Prior to her short tenure at KGO, she had previously worked for KTVU where she served as a freelance reporter and writer. Meza also worked for TV30 from February 2007 to June 2008 where she served as an anchor and would often write and fill in reports.
From July 2004 to August 2996, Meza was working at KMAX where she served as a reporter. While still at KMAX, she also worked for KOVR from 2005 to 2006 where she served as a news reporter and reported on the noon show and evenings when KOVR merged with KMAX. Before joining KOVR, she had previously spent 7 years working for KFTY-50 News where she served as a news anchor as well as a reporter. While here, she anchored the morning and then report for the evening newscast from August 1997 to July 2004. Furthermore, she would also edit her packages, and hosted and produced the Healthwatch weekly pieces.
Meza had previously worked for KHSL where she served as a News reporter from September 1996 to July 1997. While here, she served as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor. She also produced, hosted, and edited “Business Beat”. Her journalism career began in 1993 after landing a job at KGTV where she served as a writer, producer, and reporter trainee from 1993 to 1996. Meza attended the Poynter Institute and later graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She is a member of the California Chicano News Media Association.
