As an Air Force family, they moved a lot, and seeing so many different cultures helped expand her vision of the world. Her first job in TV was at WSUSA-9 in DC. While there, she worked as a news director’s secretary. She got so much inside knowledge of how a TV station works and was able to learn from journalists who were at the top of their game.

During her tenure at NBC-17 in Raleigh, North Carolina, she got to witness one of the last live tobacco auctions in the state, found out what a hog waste lagoon is, and learned how to shoot a gun. In addition to that, she engineered a fantastic trip with the U.S. Air Force to Germany, Albania, Bosnia, and Italy during the Kosovo conflict and had the privilege of flying in the cockpit of a C-17 across the Atlantic.

She was thrilled to come back to DC to work for FOX 5. Her proudest moment was winning a National Emmy for her series of investigative reports on Spring Valley. Furthermore, she teaches art history to elementary school students and volunteers at local hospitals with Musicians on Call.
