Her love for children and reporting really hit the world of journalism when she uncovered an alarming number of children with special needs had lost their lives in Wisconsin despite the repeated calls to Child Protective Services. She titled this series ”Speaking up for Special Needs.” Due to this, she was a finalist for the famous Investigative Reporters and Editors Award in 2015.

After joining  WGN in 2017, she reported on protection for nurses in that state’s hospital. She preached against the injustice the nurses got and asked the state law to protect all the health care workers. Her mind-blowing reporting caused Wicker Park Alderman to be unseated and sued for filing a fake police report.
