Also, he witnessed the aftermath of a deadly battle on the outskirts of Kyiv. In the escalation of the assault, Chance was securing interviews with Volodymyr Zelensky (Ukrainian President) in his bunker in Kyiv. 

In the year 2021, when numerous migrants from war-torn countries such as Iraq and Syria tried desperately to cross into Poland, Chance was reporting it live from Belarus. Also, in the same year, he investigated an elaborate intelligence sting operation by Ukraine. 

In 2008, Chance helped in leading CNN’s coverage of the Georgia-Russia conflict, where he reported from the frontlines. He was the only TV correspondent to cross from Georgian territory to Russian territory. As he was crossing, he was filling in reports from the devastated capital of the South Ossetia war zone, Tskhinvali. After the conflict, he was responsible for securing interviews exclusively with Vladimir Putin (then-Russian Prime Minister). Also, he had the chance to have a face-to-face interview with Dmitry Medvedev (then Russia’s president).
