Savidge serves at CNN as a correspondent and anchor based in Atlanta, Georgia. This is his second stint at the station. His first stint was from March 1996 – March 2004 where he served as a news anchor and correspondent. Over the years with CNN in his 2ndstint, he has broken news worldwide. He provided live-on-scene coverage of the stories; the missing girls in Cleveland, Colorado wildfires, the school bus hostage situation in Alabama, the Texan fertilizer plant explosion, and the trial of George Zimmerman, in the year 2013.
In the previous year, he reported on the ground Ohio school shooting, John McAfee on the run, Mississippi murders, and Superstorm Sandy. In the year 2011, Savidge covered the nuclear disaster, tsunami, and earthquake in Japan, as well as the outbreak of the largest tornado in the history of the United States that moved through the Southeast. Savidge was responsible for delivering on-scene coverage of the military build-up in Kuwait and Iraq in the year 2003, where he was embedded with the First Battalion of the Seventh Marines.
Reporting from Bagram, Kandahar, and Afghanistan, Savidge was he was the 1st TV journalist to travel with the United States troops during Operation Anaconda. Savidge followed the 9/11 (the September 11, 2001) terrorist attacks where he covered the search and rescue mission from Ground Zero.
Before joining CNN for the 2nd stint, he served at Thirteen/WNET in New York as a correspondent and anchor for 2 years. Savidge has worked for NBC News as an Atlanta-based correspondent for 4 and a half years (March 2004 – August 2008). While there, he was reporting for MSNBC, the Today Show, and NBC Nightly News. In the year 2005 when Hurricane Katrina hit, Savidge served as NBC’s primary correspondent based in New Orleans.

Savidge worked for WJW-TV in Cleveland, Ohio as a special projects reporter and anchor before joining CNN in the 1st stint.
