Kilcoyne serves at FOX 2 News – KTVI as a Sports Director, a position he has held since the year 2002. He also serves as a sports anchor of the 5 PM, 6 PM, and 9 PM sportscasts, from Sunday to Thursday. He began as a Sports Reporter at the station. For 4 years (2006-2010), he worked as KTVI’s play-by-play announcer for the pre-season football games of the St. Louis Rams. Over the years with FOX 2, he has reported on various sports events, including 2 Super Bowls with the Rams and the Cardinals in the World Series 4 times. He says that the biggest and major event he has ever reported was the Blues winning the 2019 Stanley Cup.
Kilcoyne’s previous stops before joining FOX 2, included KNAZ-TV in Flagstaff, Arizona, WISC-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, and WJFW-TV in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Besides working on TV, he also works for KTRS (AM) 550, a St. Louis-area radio station, as a host of The Martin Kilcoyne Show. The show airs from Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. He has also been a fixture on KTRS and he is heard with daily segments on “The Big 550.”
He holds 5 Emmy Awards, two of them being for the Mid-America top Sports Anchor in the years 2006 and 2008. In the year 2008, the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences awarded him an Emmy Award for Best Sports Anchor. The Riverfront Times named Kilcoyne “Best TV Sports Anchor” in St. Louis. Kilcoyne was featured in St. Louis Magazine’s 2007 “A-List.” For his education, Kilcoyne graduated from CBC High School in St. Louis, Missouri, and then attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he graduated in the year 1990.
