Mark Zinni is an American Anchor and Reporter working for WFSB-TV (CBS Affiliate) in Hartford, Connecticut as a weekday evening news anchor. He joined the station in September 2014.

Zinni is a proud alumnus of St. Bonaventure University. He attended the university in the year 1994 and graduated 4 years later with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Journalism & Mass Communication. When it comes to his profession, Zinni serves at WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News as an evening news anchor. He anchors the weeknight newscasts from 4 PM to 6:30 PM and 11 PM.
Before joining WFSB, he worked for WJW-TV in Cleveland, Ohio as a Weekend Morning News Anchor and Weekday News Reporter for nearly 4 and a half years. This is the station that he watched while growing up and always aspired to work there in the future. It was therefore his dream come true. There he covered multiple stories in the community, and he describes it as “an incredible experience with some of the best people in the business.”
Before that, he served at KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah as a News Anchor and Reporter for 4 months. Zinni has also worked as a news anchor and reporter for WPRI/WNAC in Providence, Rhode Island; and WJW-TV in Cleveland, Ohio. While in college, he interned at WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio for 4 years. Also, he interned at The TODAY Show in New York.
Over the years in his career, he has earned several awards. He says that one thing he likes about his job is the fact that he meets new faces every day and gets to share their stories. He started his career at WICU-TV in Erie, Pennsylvania where he worked as a reporter and producer. From there, he went to work for WTOV-TV in Steubenville, Ohio as a news anchor and reporter for nearly half a decade.
Zinni has been passionate about the news since he was young. He got his first cable television in the ’80s, where he used to sit on his couch and watch CNN and he was fixated on how the news was gathered, as well as how it was presented. He says that that is where his fascination with TV news began.

Zinni was diagnosed with stage one thyroid cancer in the year 2014. He was lucky to discover it early because the cancer is both treatable and curable at its early stage. Zinni ultimately underwent surgery and he was told by his doctors that he would take medicine for the rest of his life and would undergo some other treatments. He was also told that there would be no radiation or chemotherapy in his future. Zinni was treated at the Cleveland Clinic. He says that after the surgery he felt like he needed a change – something new both professionally and personally.
