Mark Lehman Career
Lehman works for News 6/WKMG News serving the station as a News Reporter. After he was raised in Fort Myers he left Southwest Florida for Orlando in 1998. This was in order for him to further his education. As for his education, Lehman is a proud graduate of the University of Central Florida.
He began his journalism career working for News Talk AM 580 WDBO as a radio producer/announcer. During his time there, he covered some of the biggest stories that have hit their area. These includes the unprecedented 2004 Hurricane season, and the space shuttle Columbia tragedy. After learning the ins and outs of radio, he took his passion for news to TV and just down the street to News 6.
Lehman joined the News 6 team back in the 2005 serving as a video editor and was working his way through the newsroom. This was before becoming a full-time reporter. He states that while most people are fast asleep in their beds, he starts his day overnight by searching for news on the streets of Central Florida.
Mark makes sure that whether it is covering traffic, severe weather, or any story that can affect the family, he makes sure that he doesn’t miss anything that gets him ready for the day. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and children and cheering on his UCF Knights.
Lehman stated that his favorite restaurant is Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Cafe whereas his favorite foos is his wife’s home-cooked Puerto Rican food. Delicious!! On the other hand, his favorite genre of music is alternative and his favorite sport is football. His favorite teams include Orlando Magic, Atlanta Braves, UCF Knights, and Miami Dolphins.
He stated that his favorite movies are Office Space, The Goonies (a childhood favorite), and Airplane! (a classic). On the other hand, his favorite TV Shows include The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and House of Cards. Lehman stated that the places he would really love to visit are Europe, most especially Spain, Italy, and Germany.
