Followill serves at FOX Sports as a play-by-play announcer for FOX Sports. He was most recently part of the world-class broadcast team covering the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Followill has been a play-by-play commentator for Major League Soccer, the United States Men’s and Women’s National Teams, the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the UEFA Europa League, the 2016 Copa America Centenario, the Bundesliga, and the FIFA U-20 and U-17 World Cups since 2014. Since 2012, Followill has also served as a play-by-play announcer for the network’s college football broadcasts. Followill is now in his eighth season as FC Dallas’ television play-by-play announcer.

In addition to soccer, Followill is the Dallas Mavericks’ television play-by-play announcer, a role he’s held since 2005, calling games on FOX Sports Southwest and TXA 21. He’s also worked as a play-by-play announcer for The Longhorn Network’s college basketball and volleyball broadcasts, Sports USA Radio Network’s NFL and NCAA football broadcasts, and ESPN Radio’s NBA and WNBA games. Followill has also been a regular contributor to KTCK, Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, a prominent Dallas radio station. Mark attended the University of North Texas in Denton from 1989 to 1992 after graduating from Northwest High School in Justin, Texas. He is an avid runner who has worked on activities in support of the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Girls, including the BMW Dallas Marathon.

During that time, Followill has won multiple regional Emmys for On-Camera Talent/Sports Play-by-Play, and the Mavericks show has won multiple regional Emmys for Live Sporting Event. From 2001 to 2005, Followill served as the Mavericks’ radio play-by-play announcer on 103.3 ESPN Radio. Followill previously worked for 570 KLIF for two years as a studio host for Mavericks radio broadcasts as well as a play-by-play announcer on select broadcasts. He also served as the play-by-play announcer for NBC’s coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics in men’s and women’s soccer.
