She was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints alongside her eight siblings and was the eighth born in a family of nine children. Osmond was raised as the only daughter in her family.
Her brothers are named Alan, Wayne, Donny, Jimmy Osmond, Virl, Tom, Jay, and Merrill. Starting from an early age, her brother maintained a career in show business, singing and performing on national television. She debuted as part of her brothers’ act the Osmond Brothers on The Andy Williams Show when she was about three years old. She, however, generally did not perform with her brothers in the group’s television performances through the 1960s.

She and Blosil announced their imminent divorce in the month of March 2007.
She and Brian released a joint statement stating that neither one assigned fault for the divorce. Later on, on the 4th of May 2011, she remarried her first husband, Stephen Lyle Craig in a small ceremony in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple wearing her dress from the 1982 wedding.

On the 26th of February 2010 her adoptive son, Michael takes his own life by jumping from the eighth floor of his apartment building in Los Angeles.
