Marc Schollett is an American Edward R. Murrow Award-winning News Anchor/Reporter working for WPBN-TV since joining the station in September of 1999. He is currently the co-anchor of the 5 pm, 6 pm, and 11 pm newscasts on 7&4 News.

He started out as the weekend reporter and anchor at the station. Schollett is a proud alumnus of Loyola University in Chicago, as well as the University of Michigan. He enjoys his career, although it is nothing like what he studied in college. He studied biology at the University of Michigan and went on to Loyola University in Chicago for his Master’s degree in freshwater ecology.

Schollett began his career in broadcasting at ABC 8 and 29 in Traverse City before joining the team. For his feature stories, breaking news, and investigative reporting as an anchor/reporter, Schollett received honors from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, the National Television News Director’s Association, and the Associated Press.

“Water Watch”, Schollett’s series, has also won honors from the Society of Environmental Journalists and the Sierra Club. The United States Army Reserve has awarded Schollett “The Seven Seals Award” for his excellent support of the Reserves and Guard. In addition, Schollett won an Edward R. Murrow prize for his investigative documentary about the defunct Big Rock Nuclear Power Plant. Schollett loves the outdoors, as well as nature.

During his leisure, you can find him out west elk hunting in Idaho in the fall, or in his deer blind deep in the Upper Peninsula forests. Also, he likes running during his free time. He recently finished his first 140.6-mile Ironman triathlon and is currently working on a long-term goal of running a marathon in each of the fifty states; with only 14 states remaining, he still has a lot of running to go, but plenty of time.
