Cota-Robles serves at KABC – ABC7 as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News. He began his career in 2006 as a morning news anchor at KVII-TV in Amarillo. While at ABC7, he has reported on countless breaking stories, including the destructive Thomas Fire in Ventura, the Las Vegas mass shooting, and the mudslide aftermath in Montecito.
Prior to joining ABC7, he spent nearly eight years at KION-TV, the CBS affiliate in Salinas, California. While at KION, he served in many roles, including evening news anchor, beginning in 2010.
In 2012, his anchor duties extended to KION’s sister stations, KCOY 12 and KKFX FOX 11, based in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, California.
Before jumping into the broadcast news industry, Cota-Robles drove open-wheel race cars, competing in the Pro Mazda National Championship. Cota-Robles continues to be an avid motorsports fan and has attended the Indianapolis 500 annually since 1993. Mentioning education, he attended Chapman University where he received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast television journalism.
