Lyndsey Gough is an American journalist working for WTOC serving as a Sports Director. She has been working as a sports director since December 2020.

Lyndsey Gough Career

Gough is a sports director who had also worked for other stations prior to joining WTOC. For instance, she previously worked in Louisville, KY covering the University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville as well as sports across the Bluegrass state from the high school level on up. After she graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2015 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, she started her career in journalism at WTOC’s sister station in Bowling Green, KY serving as a Multi-Media Journalist.

Later on. she was promoted to the producer and anchor for the weekend newscast and began a franchise for the Sports Connection show. The show was called Beyond The Game and would pinch-hit for the sports department as needed. Gough held several internships while at the University of Kentucky. Some of the internships include; being one of two of ESPN Lexington’s first interns, interning for the John Calipari Pro Camps, and working for the athletic department her senior year.

Furthermore, she is also an alumna of Alpha Omicron Pi. Gough has also managed to enclose quite a number of stories including a Heisman Trophy winner, and state championships. Additionally, she has covered bowl games, two Kentucky Derbies as well as multiple NCAA Tournament berths. Furthermore, she enjoys watching and is always looking forward to getting to know the people of Georgia and South Carolina and telling their stories each day.

Whenever she is not working, she finds pleasure in spending time with her dog, Scout- the cutest Cichon around. She also loves binge-watching Netflix, exploring the city, doing antique shopping, and cheering on her favorite teams.

Gough and her family have gone through a lot ever since the rise of Covid-19 knocked on their door. She has lost her father as well as her stepmother due to the disease in one year. On July 15, 2020, she shared a post on her Instagram page stating that she has been diagnosed with Covid-19 since June 20, 2020. 

She also states that it was not easy for her to be battling the disease but she had a positive mindset and had faith that she was going to defeat the disease. After a lot of sleepless nights, she was able to defeat the disease and is now healthy. Additionally, she is always advising and advocating for people to get vaccinated for this is a great way of showing love to others.
