Lydia is among the cast members of the Netflix reality dating series Love is Blind Season 5. The series will premiere on September 22, 2023, and will be hosted and presented by Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey. Love is Blind is a social experiment revolving around 15 single women and 15 single men who are from the same metropolitan area and want to find true love. The women and men date each other for 10 days in purpose-built “pods.” In the pods, the two can not see each other but can hear each other through a speaker hence making meaningful bonds based on personalities and not based on physical appearance.
At the beginning of this dating series, the cast members are paired in a speed-dating format and later on are given the freedom of choosing their longer dates. After making meaningful connections and relationships, the daters may extend a marriage proposal and meet face-to-face only after the marriage proposal is accepted.
The engaged couples move on to a couples’ retreat in a selected resort and spend more time trying to know each other more and also make a physical connection. It is at the resort that all the cast members will be able to see each other at the same time, unlike the beginning where the women could not see the men and vice versa.
After the engaged couple’s retreat, they move to the same apartment complex in the city where they live and meet their partners’ friends and families.
