Liz Strzepa Profile
Liz Strzepa is an American anchor working for NBC5 since joining the station in 2015. Strzepa was working out of NBC5’s Upper Valley bureau, then later moved up to the Plattsburgh bureau for a number of years. While there, she covered the aftermath of the 2015 prison break at Clinton Correctional Facility. In addition, she did numerous other stories impacting North Country viewers.

Strzepa went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she did journalism. Further Liz spent time in various newsrooms before coming to NBC5. At one time, she interned at WPRI-TV in Providence, WGGB-TV in Springfield, MA, WCVB-TV in Boston (NBC5’s sister station), and RI.
As of now, Liz reports out of NBC5’s main studio in South Burlington. She has covered very many stories that have impacted the lives of Vermonters. However, out of all those stories, there is this one story that stands out the 2019 quintuple murder trial of Steven Bourgoin. She actually spent one month in the courtroom, getting to know the families of Cyrus Zschau, Eli Brookens, Liam Hale, Mary Harris, and Janie Chase Cozzi- the five teenagers killed at the hands of Bourgoin. Liz did so many stories about the impact of their loss on the Mad River Valley community. Actually, she kept forever, on her desk, a poem about kindness, that was written by Harris.
Strzepa is a New Englander native and was raised in a small town in central Massachusetts so she is used to cold winters and muggy summers. Outside work, Liz loves volunteering, singing, and traveling. In addition, she likes exploring the picturesque small towns across our region and ‘coffee connoisseur’. Outside work, Liz is learning a new song on the piano, at the gym, cheering on Boston sports teams, exploring the outdoors with her dog, or taking coffee.
