Lindsey Anderson is an American Meteorologist currently working for KSHB-TV since joining the station in July 2016. You can catch her forecasts every morning, from Monday to Friday on 41 Action News. Previously, she was in Roanoke, Virginia, working for a CBS-affiliated TV station, WDBJ-TV. She stayed there for 3 years and 1 month, holding the position of Weekend Meteorologist.
Anderson is a proud alumnus of North Carolina State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, as well as minors in Environmental Science and Mathematics, in the year 2013. During her stint at the university, she worked as a Teacher Assistant, where before each laboratory, she prepared a lecture and extra materials based on the previous class’ subjects. Also, she graded and assessed students, based on the correctness and thoroughness of their laboratories.
She says that her favorite aspect of her work as a meteorologist is interacting with viewers and using science to explain the prediction in a way that they can understand. While listening to her forecasts, she would love someone to learn something new. She is also proud of being a reliable source amid extreme weather. Her goal is to deliver the most up-to-date and accurate forecasts to help viewers and the community stay safe.
Anderson has served as a Student Intern at National Weather Service(NWS) in Raleigh, North Carolina, for 1 year and 5 months. Also, still in Raleigh, she worked for WRAL-TV as a Weather Center Intern for 4 months. The American Meteorological Society has awarded Anderson the renowned Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) credential. This has been her proudest thing in life.
During her leisure, she enjoys all of the parks and open spaces in the Kansas City region. Also, she likes going outside, exercising, and riding her bike during her free time. In addition, you can find her rooting for the Chiefs and Royals during her free time.
