Prior to joining WFLA, she worked at WCBD based in Charleston, South Carolina from April 2004 to August 2007 where she served as a meteorologist. Prior to that, she worked at WMAZ, Gannett where she served as a meteorologist from February 2002 to March 2004. In 1997, she joined The University of Georgia where she attained her BS in Geography and a certificate in Atmospheric Science.
Spann is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) and also owns the National Weather Association Broadcast Seal of Approval. In addition to that, she is also an avid runner and has run four marathons. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
