Laura Okmin Career

Okmin serves as a reporter for the NFL on FOX as well as a feature reporter for both of FOX’s pregame shows, FOX NFL SUNDAY and FOX NFL KICKOFF. For more than two decades, she has covered the biggest names on the biggest stages, including more than ten Super Bowls, two Olympics, multiple NBA Finals, World Series, and MLB All-Star Games. Laura worked as a FOX Sports AFC reporter during the divisional playoffs in 2018-2019. She also provides analysis for Westwood One’s national radio games on Thursday and Monday nights, as well as the NFL playoffs.

Okmin has hosted three national FSN shows as well as served as a feature reporter and reporter for the Orange and Fiesta BCS Bowl Games, in addition to hosting FOXSports.com’s coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London and the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi. Okmin founded LO Productions in order to create and develop her own content, and PROfiles, a 30-minute series introducing NFL personalities off the field, aired on FSN. She worked for CNN for five years as a reporter and host, anchoring the network’s premier sports shows, “CNN Early Edition,” “CNN Morning News,” “Page One,” and “NBA Today,” which aired daily on CNN and CNNSI. Okmin began her broadcasting career as a Sports Reporter/Anchor in Montgomery, Ala., Chattanooga, Tenn., and Sports Channel in Chicago, where she traveled with the Chicago Bulls during their championship run, after graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in Journalism. She received the Chicago Midwest Emmy for Outstanding Achievement in Sports – Single Program Covering Sports while in Chicago.

Okmin wrote and published a children’s book titled “Mommy Has Cancer” in 2002. Her other passion is training and mentoring young women entering the sports broadcasting field through her company GALvanize, which holds seminars across the country. She also does media training. She also teaches media skills to professional athletes, coaches, NFL and MLB teams, and business executives. Okmin also serves on the Board of Trustees of the University of Kansas William Allen White Journalism School and the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission’s advisory board.
