Before Lah re-joined CNN United States, she worked as a correspondent based in Tokyo for the network. As the 9.0 earthquake was striking Japan in March 2011, she was in Tokyo. In Japan, she covered the story of the 15,000 people who lost their lives in the tsunami and the world’s worst nuclear disaster in two and a half decades at the Fukushima nuclear power plant’s triple meltdown. Lah was the 1st United States broadcast journalist to go inside the meltdown on the 1 year anniversary of the disaster.
Lah has provided extensive reports throughout East Asia, where she covered stories of human struggle and conflict from Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Korea, Pakistan, and the Philippines. She has conducted interviews with multiple Japanese prime ministers and leaders from Pakistan and China. Lah has worked as a national correspondent for CNN Newsource based in Washington DC. In that capacity, she provided live coverage of breaking news events from the country’s capital for approximately 800 CNN Newsource partner stations.
