Pierce serves at WISN as a News Anchor/Reporter. Before joining WISN, she worked at WHAS11-TV in Louisville, Kentucky. She joined the station in March 2019 and resined in March 2022. At WHAS, she served as a news anchor from Monday to Friday, from 4:30 – to 7:00 am. She also specialized in general assignment reporting.
Before joining WHAS, Pierce was in New Orleans, Louisiana, working for a CBS-affiliated television station, WWL-TV as the weekend evening reporter and anchor. During her time there, she covered stories that affected people’s daily lives, breaking news, and severe storms. She was the first reporter to cover the story about a utility company paying actors to attend municipal council meetings and talk in support of a $210 million gas plant. As a result of this story, the utility provider was fined $5 million. Kristin is also invested in the company she works for. She launched a Neighborhood Heroes section in New Orleans to spotlight ordinary people accomplishing great things in their communities.
Before serving in New Orleans, she was in Detroit, Michigan, working for WMYD and WXYZ as a reporter. There she reported numerous national news stories, such as the Flint water crisis, the murder case of Renisha McBride, and the corruption trial of Kwame Kilpatrick, former Detroit Mayor. Pierce spent some time as an associate producer before his work as an anchor/reporter. She was working for WTVG in Toledo, Ohio, as well as WDIV in Detroit.
Pierce is a proud alumnus of Bowling Green State University. There she graduated with a minor in Sociology and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with distinction. Pierce is affiliated with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
