Prior to this, she was working for Sinclair Broadcast Group, KEPR/KIMA Action News serving as a Morning Meteorologist. She worked for the station between January 2017 and July 2018.

Prior to making her arrival in Portland, she had spent about three years working as a Meteorologist in Tri-Cities, Washington at KEPR Action News. During her time there, she forecast record-breaking winter snowfall and severe icing events across the Columbia Basin. Kelley’s morning team’s coverage of fast-spreading wildlife during the summer of 2017 earned them an Emmy nomination.
Bayern has previously worked for KOMO TV in the Greater Seattle Area serving the station as a Weather Intern. There, she worked between April 2014 and April 2015. Aside from this, she has previously served as a Science Intern at Clean Power Research in Kirkland, Washington. There, she worked between August 2013 and March 2014.
Away from work, she enjoys an active lifestyle and is a climber and mountaineer. Bayern made the summit of the tallest peaks in Washington, such as Mt. Baker, and Mt. Rainier, and is planning to tackle the eight volcanic peaks that Oregon has to offer. She also stated that she is excited to be back in a city that feels like home.
