Katie Inman is an American creative, competitive, and AP award-winning multimedia journalist working at WBIR in Knoxville, Tennessee. She joined the WBIR team in June 2018.
Katie Inman Career
Inman serves at WBIR as a Multimedia Journalist. She was a member of the dance squad, speech and debate team, and theatrical department at Jefferson County High School. In her senior class’s rendition of Beauty and the Beast, she even played Belle.
She also had the honor of serving as the Jefferson County Fairest of the Fair in my neighborhood. Inman relocated to the middle of the state after high school graduation to pursue a degree in Multimedia Journalism at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
She got involved with MTSU’s student-run television station, MT10, where she learned how to report, anchor, and collaborate with others. While volunteering at the station, she discovered a passion for stories and realized that reporting was the path for her.
As an upperclassman, she was fortunate enough to achieve the position of News Director for MT10, and she found tremendous delight in assisting other students in improving their work and discovering their passion for journalism.
Inman was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, a sorority, and she worked as a Blue Elite tour guide, showing prospective families around the campus she adored. Blue Raiders, go. She was fortunate enough to have three internships in the journalistic industry during her college years.
Inman interned with News Talk 98.7, East Tennessee’s largest radio news team, and was fortunate enough to intern right here at WBIR in the summer of 2017. She also spent time at WKRN News 2 in Nashville. Inman was ecstatic to join the WBIR family as a reporter after graduation and be closer to her family—safe it’s to say her family is equally ecstatic to have me back.

Inman’s grandfather wore blue jean overalls and undertook most of the maintenance on his own farm/property and commercial properties until his recent passing. He and her grandma always bailed and gathered their own hay and pecans. She comes from a family that isn’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Her father and mother are the same way, and she is ecstatic to have been reared with the same work ethic and morals.

Inman is married and the couple has twins; Luke and Charlotte.
Katie Inman Pregnancy/ Pregnant
Katie and her husband tried for two years to conceive before turning to infertility treatment. She realized she wasn’t ovulating, and her husband was having trouble as well, so they started Clomid and then IUI a year later after she started ovulating.
Katie found out she was pregnant and immediately assumed she was expecting twins, but her husband didn’t believe her until he saw the kids on ultrasound and was taken aback. Her pregnancy continued normally after that, with the exception of morning sickness in the first trimester.
Katie had hoped to nurse her child, but there were numerous obstacles in her way. She started Domperidone and continued pumping after her milk didn’t come in for almost a month. She is nursing when she is able, pumping at work, and supplementing when necessary. Her lactation consultant counseled her to accept that she is doing everything she can and to enjoy the process.
