Karli Ritter Career
Ritter serves as a Morning Meteorologist for FOX4 from 5:00-9:00 a.m. Karli’s interest in weather began when she was a child growing up in central Florida. She would frequently track every hurricane in the Atlantic Ocean on her own personal tracking map in between afternoon thunderstorms. She was hooked after seeing a waterspout in the Florida Keys.
Her drive took her from central Florida to the panhandle, where she attended Florida State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology while there. Her involvement with a student-run weather show at FSU set her on the path to becoming a television meteorologist. She worked in Sarasota, Fla., and Montgomery, Ala., after graduation.
Karli has become involved with many local charities since moving to Kansas City, and she enjoys serving as emcee at their fundraisers. She also received her Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society in November 2007.
Karli enjoys storm chasing as well, but she has cut back now that she has a daughter and son to chase instead. Karli enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, spending time on a boat, and playing or watching sports when she is not in the FOX4 Weather Center.
