Also, she holds another Emmy Award for a story that gave an in-depth look at sharks swimming in the waters of New England. The story was entitled “Swimming with Sharks.” Hartford Magazine has named her “Best Local TV News Reporter.” Additionally, she was included in the Top 40 Under 40 of Hartford Business Journal, in the year 2006. 

Sundlun began her TV career at WPRI-TV in Providence, Rhode Island where she worked as a youth reporter. She has also worked at a station in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and worked as an intern at CNN and the White House’s Washington Bureau.

In the year 1993, Sundlun filed a suit that alleged that her dad (Bruce) bred her into a relationship with her mom (Judith). In the initial stages of the suit, her dad stated that payment to his wife of $35,000 in the year 1976 and Sundlun’s adoption by Robert Hewes in the late ’70s had fully absolved him of financial responsibility in the matter. Bruce and Judith however accepted Sundlun fully as their daughter and assured that Sundlun’s college education was fully financed.
