She started her journalism career at CNNfn where she worked as an Associate Producer for 1 year.
For covering breaking news for the Financial Times’s coverage of the flash crash trader, Scannell was awarded the 2015 Society of American Business Editors and Writers award. She was among the Wall Street Journal crew that was a finalist for the 2009 Pulitzer Prize in the National Affairs category for reporting on the financial crisis.
