Crone serves at CBS2/KCAL9 as a news reporter. Since joining the station, Crone covered the tragic death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, the second-largest wildfire in California’s history – the Thomas Fire, the historic LAUSD teacher strike, and just to name a few. Crone’s career in TV news has also taken her to Arizona, Mississippi, and Nebraska.
She is a native of Oxnard, Crone graduated from Oxnard High School and later the University of Southern California where Crone earned a bachelor’s degree and magna cum laude honors. She is the very first job in the industry was as a production assistant at KABC-TV in Los Angeles.
Crone’s humble beginnings of printing scripts, pulling video, and taking coffee to the anchors on set would ultimately pay off and result in a full-circle moment, as Cronenow reports alongside some of the same journalists who mentored her.
In her free time, she enjoys singing, attending Faithful Central Bible Church with her family and hiking new trails, cooking different types of cuisines. Crone’s a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and has been awarded for her work on issues that affect the black community.
