Since then, her work has been great, with reports on the weather in Tampa Bay. She covered tornadoes and received several Associated Press awards. In addition, she won another Associated Press award after covering a children’s weather education special. She was among the first dozen women to receive the AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal.
The National Disaster Preparedness Training Center issued her a certificate to be a fully certified Hurricane Awareness instructor. She talks to community groups and local schools about weather safety and preparedness. Her exclusive five hours live report on tornadoes that moved through Tampa Bay, helped her to be nominated for an Emmy in 2011.
In 2016, she was nominated for another Emmy award for continuing coverage of early morning tornadoes along with other members of the Bay News 9 morning show team. During her leisure time, she likes attending her children’s gymnastics, attending her children’s gymnastics and hockey events, or riding bikes with her family.
