Josh Cozart is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Meteorologist working for KOIN 6 News in Portland, Oregon serving the station as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist. He has been working for the station since the month of December 2022.

Cozart attended the Metropolitan State University of Denver where he studied between 2013 and 2018. There, he obtained a Degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences. Cozart works for KOIN 6 News serving the station as a Weekend Evening Meteorologist. He comes from the Great Plains of Wichita, Kansas to the Colorado Rockies, and has called many states home over the years. This is the wild weather of Kansas which made a meteorologist out of Josh from a very young age. It is the fear of lightning and tornadoes that quickly turned into a fascination after surviving a night of severe weather in a tent as a fifth grader.
Before heading west, Josh spent time forecasting the weather and storm chasing in Quincy, IL. The national weather network of WeatherNation was the start of Josh’s career in 2015 while he was working on his meteorologist degree at the Metropolitan State University of Denver.
He has called the Oregon state home since the year 2019. Previously, he served KVAL News and KMTR News as a Chief Meteorologist. During his time at KMTR News while in Eugene, he was privileged to win an Emmy Award and several nominations for his weather coverage in Western Oregon. Prior to him heading west, he had spent time forecasting the weather and storm chasing in Quincy, Illinois.
He began his career working for the national weather network, WeatherNation. This was while working on his meteorologist Degree. Away from forecasting the weather, he photographs the weather. One cannot find him out and about without his camera taking photos of Mt. Hood or of the beautiful views along the Oregon/Washington coast.
He is no stranger to the Portland area. His weekly stop since the year 2020 was Rose City. Josh was making these stops with his partner while helping support the local LGBTQIA+ community. This was while being involved in the charitable organization of The Imperial Sovereign Rose Court of Oregon. One may follow and share their weather videos and photos with him on all the social media platforms.
