Knight gained fame for being part of the boy band called New Kids on the Block (NKOTB). The band split in 1994 which led Jonathan to start his real estate investing in Essex, Massachusetts out of the limelight. In 2000 he publicized that he had gone through depression and anxiety disorder during his time in the band. He also publicized that he has been checking up on his health, mental, and psychological health. In 2011, he made an appearance on the MTV reality series called True Life and assisted a fan who was suffering from panic disorder.
