Scott went to Afghanistan and enclosed the ongoing tension and wars in that country. He also covered space shuttle launches, floods, royal weddings, elections, and hurricanes. He also went to CENTCOM, Qatar where he enclosed the launch of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Before working at FNC, he worked at NBC where he served as the correspondent for Dateline NBC as well as a reporter for Inside Edition. While still working at FNC, he won an Emmy Award for news writing. He had previously spent some time working at WPLG-TV (ABC) in Miami where he served as a reporter weekend co-anchor, and weekday evening news anchor. He also worked at KUSA-TV (NBC) based in Denver.
