John Walsh is an American meteorologist who is working at KNOP. He serves as the chief meteorologist and has been leading the station’s Weather Team for more than 25 years.

He attended Hastings College where he graduated proudly. Later on, his journalism career began at KHAS-TV in his hometown of Hastings. While he was in the station, he took over the weather department in 1997.

Later on, he relocated to Omaha in 2012, and he was able to secure a job at KMTV. In addition, after spending five years at KMTV, he joined Gray Television in 2017 and started forecasting weather for 10/11 News viewers.

Furthermore, in 2020, he was promoted to serve as NBC Nebraska Chief Meteorologist. During his leisure time, he enjoys playing the guitar, lover of motorsports, backpacking, climbing, and skiing, and together with his wife, they enjoy traveling.
