Laguna serves as FOX sports bringing vast experience to FOX Deportes as the play-by-play announcer for its premier properties including Liga MX, Bundesliga, and Major League Soccer. He has also called NFL games for the network, and in 2014, he and Super Bowl XLV champion Brady Poppinga made history by calling Super Bowl XLVIII, the first-ever Spanish-language Super Bowl telecast in the United States. Laguna began working as a commentator for FOX Deportes in 1996, covering a variety of assets such as InterLiga, Champ Car Racing, and Super Series Squash.
Laguna has covered a variety of assets for FOX Deportes, including the ATP, WTA, NCAA soccer, and NFL Europe. He started calling NFL SAP transmissions for FOX Sports in the United States in 1999, then for FOX Sports International from 2000 to 2006.In this capacity, he called six Super Bowls and quickly rose to become one of Latin America’s most respected commentators.
Laguna previously worked as a sideline reporter for the Los Angeles Lakers and as the official Spanish-language radio voice of the Los Angeles Galaxy, USC Trojan Football, Chivas USA, and Los Angeles Clippers for 830AM KMXE. He worked as a sports anchor for KHWY Channel 22 News in Los Angeles from 1996 to 2005, and she led special coverage for the World Cups in 1998 and 2002. Laguna started his broadcasting career in Mexico in 1979, working for Televisa, the country’s leading network.
