Previously, he co-hosted “CBS This Morning.” Dickerson replaced “CBS This Morning” in January 2018. Previously, he was CBS News’ chief Washington reporter and host of “Face The Nation.” Dickerson is now a contributor to Slate’s “Political Gabfest” and a contributor to The Atlantic.
In April 2009, Dickerson joined CBS News as an analyst and contributor. He served as the network’s political analyst for six years and was the moderator of “Face The Nation” from June 2015 to January 2018 and co-host of “CBS This Morning” from January 2018 to May 2019. During the 2016 presidential campaign, CBS News moderated two presidential debates and interviewed one of the main candidates numerous times as host of “Face the Nation” Dickerson has been a correspondent for the White House, Congress, and Economics in Washington since 1995.
From 2005 to 2015, he was Chief Political Correspondent for Slate Magazine. His 2010 long-form vulnerability series starred future Secretary of Defense James Mattis. Before Slate, Dickerson has been reporting politics for 12 years for Time Magazine. During his last four years at Time, he was the correspondent for White House magazine, reporting the presidency of George W. Bush. He’s covered the past six presidential elections.
A native of Washington, he graduated with honors from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in English and a specialization in American Studies. He is the recipient of the Ford Prize for Distinguished Work on the Administration and the David Broder award for political reporting.
