Davis landed a summer job as the manager of broadcasting for the Schaumburg Flyers of the independent Northern League, where he also served as the team’s play-by-play voice and public relations officer, before his senior year of college. With that history, he landed a job as the play-by-play announcer for the Montgomery (Ala.) Biscuits, the Tampa Bay Rays’ Double-A affiliate.
